Japan, Zen and tea ceremony
The project fllows on from my master degree’s report, about Zen Buddhism and Japanese traditional architecture. It broadens my preceding work on tea houses, which I identified as architectural elements influenced by Zen Buddhism.
The tea house and the Parisian garden: translating a spatial experience
Tea houses are ritual and walk spaces. Here, it also becomes the place of an architectural and cultural exchange.
The project has three goals:
-
a research work on the tea house essence
-
an architectural project for a sacred place in the city
-
enhancing the garden educational offer, a civic action to improve the urban environment
